Our hike up South Fork Canyon was a crazy one! It took us about 4 hours and it was hard. I didn't cry once! haha! (I usually have to be tough and hold back my tears when I don't think I can go on any longer- but this time I hiked right through it!)
As always, when we got to the top, the effort was all worth it. Any bitterness I had towards the incline of the last hill we took or the fact that because there was no trail for the last part of the hike we were on small, movable rocks that allowed us to take one step up and then we'd slide about two steps back... any of those thoughts were GONE, it was so beautiful that all I could think about was how happy I was that I had finished the hike! Here are pictures of the hike and what we saw on top. These are always good chances for Michael and I to bond because he helps me accomplish something that I wouldn't have thought I could do and we're doing something that he absolutely LOVES doing! :)
We were literally IN the clouds! One moment I could see everything and the next I couldn't see 20 feet in front of me! It was sure a thrill.
So... the morning after our night on the top of the world, we were hiking down and realized we wouldn't get back in time for my dance rehearsals I have Saturdays. We ended up hitching a ride with two photographer guys and we got to ride in the back of their truck! I love doing that because it reminds me of my childhood when my dad would let us do that :) p.s. I don't know why this is all underlined, but I can't get it off underline. silly me.
Beautiful Utah!
Thanks for sharing my love! You guys are soooo crazy! But that's one of the thing I love about ya! Way to handle that hike, it looks amazing! I hiked up a rock slide once and it was soooo hard! p.s. Is it wired for me to miss Michaels hair? Does he ever get cold?
ReplyDeleteWeird. Not wired.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!!! Nate says he's excited to do some camping with Michael - they are both a bit crazy! Us girls and the kids can come too but I'm not sure I'm as brave as you to camp in the snow - did you stay warm? When I saw the first picture of you in the HH coat I thought "cool coat - wonder when she got that" - good find Michael!!! We love you guys - Way to go Mint!
ReplyDeleteGreat Bloggin Mint.. and even better hiking! I'm proud and happy that you're being tough enough to enjoy the beauties of mother nature with such a good looking trail guide (: Thanks for sharing your adventures, you two are inspiring!
