Meet the Bride
I grew up in Bellevue, WA, with three brothers and a sister and an awesome mom and dad. I always have loved sports, especially basketball, swimming, tennis, and football. But I'm also a girly girl, I LOVE to dance and danced for a long time growing up. I also love to sing! I got to sing and perform a lot with my dad and with church and school.
I started BYU and was accepted into the Broadcast Journalism program right before I went on a mission for my church. I spent one and a half years with 13 different full-time sister companions teaching people about Jesus Christ. It was AMAZING! It was the best time in my life. It was there I learned how to work/study/pray/have faith/be strong/keep going even when I think I can't/forgive/communicate/ and most of all, love. I will look back to my mission for the rest of my life for strength and comfort. I've been home from my mission for almost a year and a half and meeting Michael has been the greatest blessing since I've been home (a special thanks to Nana and Grandpa Victor and my parents for setting us up!!).
I'm still at BYU and studying journalism, it's exciting and challenging, I really do feel like I found my niche :) It may be my niche now, but I still don't know where it will lead me professionally. I do enjoy meeting people, interviewing, being on camera and knowing what's going on in the world, but there are a lot of things about journalism I don't enjoy (very high stress, psycho deadlines, doom and gloom newscasts, etc.) Whatever happens in the future, though, I'm very confident that my experience and education at BYU will prove to be a great blessing for me and my family and hopefully others in the community.
I work at the Missionary Training Center here in Provo as a teacher preparing missionaries to serve where they're assigned to and speak Spanish. Working there makes me realize that working for the church (maybe even writing for the Church news) would be my choice if I could choose what I do.
The profession I look forward to most is serving my hubby and someday having kids to love, teach and learn from.
I'm SO happy that I get to marry Michael Keller, he treats me like a princess and we have so much fun together. The Lord really has His ways of blessing us when and how we need it.
That's me!
p.s. I realize that my professional goals/ambitions might change, so as a disclaimer, I'm telling you that they're subject to adjustment :). My family/religious aspirations will not change other than becoming stronger!

Meet the Groom
I was born on June 10th, 1986 in Provo, Ut but have lived in North Bend, Wa since the age of two. I grew up loving sports and the outdoors. My mom would look out the window and see me swaying back and forth 50 feet up a big pine tree. I excelled at football, track and field, and many other sports, and spent much time in the outdoors hiking and backpacking. I have also been a ski instructor since age 14.
After graduating from Mount Si High School in 2004 I attended a year at Brigham Young University in Provo, Ut. I then served an honorable two year mission in Santiago, Chile. After returning in July of 2007 I continued my schooling at BYU as an Exercise Science major. I am also enrolled in the Air Force ROTC and plan on becoming a pilot. Right now I have about two years of school left before I graduate. I am currently working as a ski instructor at Sundance Resort, Ut.
Minta and I met and started dating around Thanksgiving of 2008, and right away I knew that I wanted things to go further with her. I always thought about her and every one of my journal entries since our first date says something about Minta. I was especially impressed with how nice she was to everyone around her, and not to mention that she is gorgeous and it was almost impossible for me to take my eyes off of her! I might not have if it weren't for the fact that I had to drive.
Well, that is me, and a little bit of our story, hope you enjoyed it.
WOW!!! This is such a small world! My wife called me and told me that we got a wedding announcement for Michael Keller and I was pretty excited. Then she told me that he was marrying Minta Hancock I about fell out of my chair!! This is SOO cool! It makes me feel old to know I have known both of you since you were kids but it is still cool!
ReplyDeleteMinta, I can say with all sincerity (don't let this go to your head Michael) that you are marrying one of the finest gentleman I have ever met. I mean that! I have known him and his folks for along time and so I got to watch him interact with others. I truly judge teenage boys off of how I saw him hold himself. He is just a class act plan and simple! Next to his brother Keith he is the collest guy I know! :) What a great family you are joining. Mom is a saint, dad is a stud, brothers and sisters (even Sean!) are just fantastic people! And volleyball players to boot!
Michael, you are right about Minta. I have known her and her family longer than I have know you! Minta was actually a flower girl at my first wedding and Denny wrote and sang a song at the wedding too! I have known Minta since she was a little kid and even then, I knew she was going to go places in life. She is so genuine and kind to EVERYONE! What a smile! Minta is about as close to a princess as you are ever going to find so don't screw it up! LOL! And her folks and family are amazing! Denny and Leslie are two of the best people you could ever meet!
I am so happy for both of you! We are really going to try and make it up there for your wedding but if we don't, we live here in Herriman now so we should definitely get together. call anytime! 801-676-9332
Conratulations! - Sean Burgess
I'm going through old posts and re-read this comment of yours and had to thank you. What incredibly kind words you wrote about both of us. THANK YOU. Can you believe it will be 5 years next May that Michael and I have been married? Anyways, it is a beautiful small world and thank you again for taking the time and effort to write such words of praise that we'll both try to live up to... hope you and your family are well :)
